*SPOILERS* SmackDown Taping Results For This Friday, 7/20
SmackDown (Airing July 20th on SyFy):
* The show opens with a recap of events from the Money in the Bank pay-per-view, followed by a recap of Rey Mysterio’s return on RAW Monday night.
* Rey Mysterio came out to the ring and said he was excited to be back on SmackDown in front of his hometown. Rey discussed his past with Alberto Del Rio, which led to Del Rio coming out.
* Del Rio calls Rey a chihuahua before expressing how mad he was for losing to World Heavyweight Champion Sheamus this past Sunday. Del Rio says that he wants to have a rematch with Sheamus later tonight.
* Dolph Ziggler comes out with Vickie Guerrero. Ziggler yells at Del Rio for ruining his opportunity to cash-in his briefcase on Sunday. Del Rio retorts by calling Vickie a donkey.
* World Heavyweight Champion Sheamus comes out and suggests that since everyone is eager to compete tonight, why not have a tag match. Del Rio smiles and then leaves the ring, leading to a Ziggler sneak-attack. Ziggler is cut off by Mysterio who almost hit a 619 on him, but didn’t due to Vickie making the save.
* Camacho, Darren Young, Hunico and Titus O’Neil w/Abraham Washington b. Epico, Primo and WWE Tag Team Champions Kofi Kingston and R-Truth w/Rosa Mendes when Young pinned Epico after he fell off the top rope. After the match, Big Show came down to the ring and cleaned house, knocking everyone out.
* Damien Sandow came out and cut a promo on his opponent for the night, Zack Ryder. Ryder said the WWE Universe should be embarrassed for supporting someone like him, which led to Ryder attacking him before the bell rang.
* Damien Sandow b. Zack Ryder with a neck breaker.
* WWE Intercontinental Champion Christian came out to host the Peep Show. Christian said his guests have had an interesting yet bizarre week, then brought out AJ and Daniel Bryan.
* Bryan said the wedding plans were going great, which led to a video of the planning being shown. Christian asked Bryan if he was sure he was doing the right thing, Bryan screamed YES and then said that AJ forgives him.
* Christian asked if this was true love, they both yelled YES and the crowd joined in on it. Christian asked AJ if she was sure, to which he got slapped in the face. As AJ and Bryan were leaving, Christian said that Bryan has a match with a psychotic ex-boyfriend of AJ’s up next. Out comes Kane.
* Kane b. Daniel Bryan w/AJ via disqualification when AJ interfered. After the match, AJ went to give Kane a kiss, but then exited the ring and proceeded to make out with Bryan on the stage as Kane looked on in the ring.
* Heath Slater came out and said not only is he a one man band, but he’s also an animal. He issues a challenge to anyone in the back and out comes WWE Hall of Famer Road Warrior Animal to accept.
* Road Warrior Animal b. Heath Slater with a power slam followed by an elbow drop.
* Backstage, Vickie Guerrero approaches Ricardo Rodriguez and yells at him for being called a donkey earlier. Ricardo looked confused by the whole thing.
* Rey Mysterio and World Heavyweight Champion Sheamus b. Alberto Del Rio and Dolph Ziggler w/Vickie Guerrero via disqualification when Ricardo Rodriguez attacked Sheamus. After the match, Del Rio attacked Sheamus to the point where Ziggler was about to cash-in. Mysterio hit a 619 on Ziggler, followed by a Brogue Kick to Dolph from Sheamus. The faces celebrated in the ring to close the show.
