*SPOILERS* SmackDown Taping Results For This Friday, 8/10
SmackDown (Airing August 10th on SyFy):
* The show opens with SmackDown General Manager Booker T coming out to a huge reaction since the show is in his hometown of Houston, Texas. Booker talks about what happened with Alberto Del Rio and World Heavyweight Champion Sheamus on RAW this past Monday and says Sheamus should come out and apologize to Del Rio.
* World Heavyweight Champion Sheamus comes out and issues an apology to Alberto Del Rio, who comes out and says that he filed a police report earlier in the day. Sheamus then suggested they settle the matter with the World Heavyweight Title on the line tonight. Del Rio, at first, was hesitant on accepting the match but ultimately did after Booker said he would be allowed time to prepare.
* Cody Rhodes came out and cut a promo about Sin Cara, saying that Cara hides his face under a mask because there is nothing special about him that fans would find interesting.
* Sin Cara b. Cody Rhodes with a roll-up after Rhodes got distracted by trying to remove Cara’s mask.
* Christian b. Antonio Cesaro w/Aksana with a Spear. After the match, Cesaro attacked Christian in anger, taking him to the outside and laying him out before leaving.
* Randy Orton b. Jack Swagger with an RKO in a rather quick match.
* Backstage, SmackDown General Manager Booker T and Senior Adviser to the GM Theodore Long were in the middle of a conversation when Curt Hawkins and Tyler Reks walked in Booker’s office and interrupted. Hawkins and Reks ask of a opportunity tonight. Booker says they have the look, but they can’t even beat Ryback. He says he wants nothing but A+ talent on the show.
* Jinder Mahal b. 2 local workers when he applied the Camal Clutch to one of them. After the match, Jinder went to apply a double Camal Clutch but was chased off by Ryback. Ryback hit Shell Shock on the two local workers before starting a “Feed Me More” chant as Jinder looked on from the stage.
* Chris Jericho came out for The Highlight Reel segment and before he could even speak, he was interrupted by Vickie Guerrero who says that she is her on behalf of her client Dolph Ziggler. Jericho threw out some insults towards Vickie and then introduced a clip from RAW of Ziggler losing to Alex Riley.
* Vickie said that what happened on RAW was a fluke and then, on behalf of Dolph, challenged Jericho to a match at SummerSlam. Jericho accepted the match, saying that what Ziggler said a few weeks ago got him thinking and that it’s time to bring back Y2J. Ziggler came through the crowd and hit a ZigZag on Jericho. Ziggler also hit Jericho with the Money in the Bank briefcase.
* WWE Tag Team Champions Kofi Kingston and R-Truth come out and join the announce team for the next match.
* Darren Young and Titus O’Neil w/Abraham Washington b. Epico and Primo via disqualification in a #1 contender match when Washington threw water on Kofi and Truth at ringside which made them attack the Prime Time Playas. After the match, Epico and Primo argued with Kofi and Truth for costing them the match.
* Backstage, Eve Torres once again asked Booker for a job and again she got turned down. Kaitlyn walked in and said she was recommended for a position by Theodore Long. Booker said she was hired, which led to Eve threatening to file a complaint for unfair action. Booker then announced that next week, his assistant will be determined in a match between Eve and Kaitlyn.
* Rey Mysterio b. WWE Intercontinental Champion The Miz with a roll-up in a non-title match.
* Daniel Bryan came out to barrage of YES chants. Bryan talked about the last few week’s of torture he’s been dealing with on RAW with AJ as the General Manager. Kane came out and interrupted, followed by RAW General Manager AJ who said she was her as SmackDown general Manager Booker T’s special guest.
* AJ told Bryan to prove he doesn’t have anger management issues and is a good sport by shaking Kane’s hand. Bryan shouted NO which led to AJ putting him on blast. Bryan eventually extended his hand to Kane, but instead of a hand shake, Bryan got punched. Bryan ran away into the crowd before anything serious could happen while AJ laughed on stage.
* World Heavyweight Champion Sheamus vs. Alberto Del Rio never took place, as before the match started, 5 police officers came out to confront Del Rio. Del Rio admitted that he never filed a police report for what happened at RAW. Sheamus tried to fight off the cops but then was attacked from behind by Del Rio. Del Rio applied the cross arm breaker on Sheamus to close the show.
