We are live from Montreal, Quebec, Canada and your announcer is Michael ‘Hebner’ Cole and Jerry ‘I have footage of Pat Patterson’s Intercontinental Title Tournament Victory’ Lawler.

Justin Roberts introduces Bret Hart who makes his way to the ring. Bret thanks everyone in two languages, falling three short of Antonio Cesaro. Bret says that it has been fifteen years, so he will take the ovation from the fans which has been going on for a few minutes.

He says that it took a long time to get here. He says that it is a great moment for him to come back to Montreal. He says that he doesn’t know what to say after fifteen years. He says the last time he was here, it turned out to be one of the darkest days of his life, but it was also one of his proudest.

He says that the people of Montreal have been in his heart for fifteen years. Bret says that he remembers this day. It was the people of Montreal who got him through those dark days. It was a uniquely Canadian moment and he says that he stands behind everything that he did that day.

CM Punk’s music plays and he makes his way to the ring.

Punk circles Bret a few times before saying with all due respect that everything that happened to Bret has been chronicled in the book that Bret wrote about himself. Punk says that he does not have the ego to write a book about himself. His book would be ‘What If’. What if Punk wrestled Bret Hart at Survivor Series 1997 instead of Shawn Michaels.

Bret says that it wouldn’t have mattered because he would have beaten Punk in about a minute.

Punk says what would have happened. The WWE as everyone knows it would not exist. Punk says that he is the best in the world so he does not need Vince McMahon to screw anyone. He would have beaten Hart with his own two hands. No one would have been here today and nobody would have screwed Bret and the Attitude Era would never have existed. Punk says that he would have jumped the sinking ship to WCW.

Bret says that the Best in the World would have been excellently executed by the Best there is, the Best there was, and the Best there ever will be.

Punk says that it drives him crazy that Bret would continue to call himself that. He could call himself the King of England or the King of Memphis, but it wouldn’t matter. Punk asks Jerry how he is doing.

Bret says that he has a history with Lawler, but Jerry always showed up. He never walked out of the ring like a coward.

We go to the footage from last week when CM Punk walked out only to return during the Falls Count Anywhere Match.

Punk says he was in his home town, a town that treats champions respectfully and he was in a hurry to enjoy his well earned day off. He came back to get some things from the locker room and he saw John Cena in front of him.

Punk wants to know where Cena is. Does Cena got Bret’s back? Did Bret ask Cena to be his white knight when it gets too hot in the ring?

Bret says that he talked to John but he wanted to come out and talk to the fan.

Punk tells Bret that he does not know the meaning of the word respect because Bret would not talk to the WWE Champion. Punk says that he will beat John Cena again and he will cement his legacy as the greatest WWE Champion of all time.

Punk says that the ovation that Bret got tonight is the ovation that he deserves everywhere since he is the WWE Champion. Punk says that he will put Cena to sleep on Sunday.

Bret says that Punk is putting the people to sleep right now.

We are back and Bret Hart comes out for his interview with John Cena. John thanks Bret for the opportunity for the interview.

Bret says that he has been watching the feud between John Cena and CM Punk and he sees a lot of similarities between him and Shawn Michaels. They had mutual respect for a while, but then it became a rivalry over the title that almost ruined their lives.

Bret says that he sees a lot of him in John Cena. He sees a lot of the old Shawn Michaels when he looks at Punk.

Cena thanks Bret for mentioning him in the same breath as Shawn and Bret. He has some work to do to get to that level. Comparing Punk to Shawn, Shawn was always himself. If Shawn was acting like a jerk, he meant it. Punk is an insecure guy who has to show that he is the best.

Bret is someone who stands for something. CM Punk is just a desperate and delusional young man who feels that leather and gold by any means necessary means respect.

Bret wants to know what Cena is going to do to shut up this phony little punk.

Punk wants to know what Bret was saying by calling him phony.

Cena asks Punk if it irritates him that Bret called him a phony. If it brings him to the ring, he will call him a phony again. Punk has forty feet and three ropes between him and the worst decision of his life.

Punk wonders if that is the pot calling the kettle black. The biggest phony is pointing his finger at the WWE Champion. Punk says that he will do what he wants and he has decided to stand up for his name against such rampant disrespect. Punk says that it breaks his heart to see the Hitman and John Cena in the ring together because they are so much alike. Punk says that this is not a good thing.

Both men were champions but they were passed by someone far superior to them. Punk says that he is talking about himself when it comes to Cena and he is talking about Shawn Michaels when it comes to Bret Hart. Punk says that he is better than Shawn Michaels so there is no way that they can compare him to Shawn.

Punk says that he is better than the hillbilly that Bret made tap out to the Sharpshooter at Wrestlemania 13. He is also better than the Rock and he showed it in the ring. He did in one night what Cena couldn’t do to Rock in a year. He is the best wrestler, talker, technician, and brawler. He does not say this from a place of insecurity. He says it because he is it. That makes him anything but a phony.

Cena says that last statement makes him a liar, hypocrite and a scumbag. Montreal is a very honest city. For years, WWE has referred to this building as Bizarro World, but they are just honest. Tonight, he is going to take a lesson from Montreal and hit Punk in the face with a dose of truth.

For 300 days, CM Punk has been the WWE Champion and that title has been irrelevant for 300 days. Month after month, he has not been in the main event. It is no conspiracy. Punk has been here for many years and the night he made the most noise was the night his microphone was turned silent.

Punk would talk about change and then on that one night in Chicago, the WWE Universe said that they would get change. They were lied to. Change was not ice cream or new talent, it was to make CM Punk a star. Punk does not know who he is.

Punk said that Cena would be the man he hated the most. Cena says that he went from an underdog to a favorite, but he did it as himself. He has stood on his own two feet and he has done it as himself.

Punk has changed his ideology numerous times. He has stabbed friends in the back. He steals colors from Hall of Famers and the elbow from Randy Savage because he does not know who he is. Punk thinks that because he has the title, he is justified and due respect.

At Night of Champions, he will have to search for a new identity. At Night of Champions, he is in serious jeopardy of losing the title. Cena says that Montreal has owed him a favor, so he will say something in French.

Punk says that Cena has lowered himself to their level to speak their language. The language of the locals.

Cena tells Punk that he does not lower himself to their level. He is here because of them and he calls Punk an ignorant son of a bitch. Punk says that he will win at Night of Champions, but Cena says that he will kick Punk’s ass.

Punk wants to swing at Cena but Cena pushes him away. Cena is ready for a fight but Punk figures that he will wait until Sunday so he tries to take a shot at Bret. Bret blocks the punch and he connects with a punch to Punk and Punk goes to the floor.

Michael Cole has an update on Jerry Lawler’s condition. He says that his condition is stable, he is breathing on his own, and his heart is beating on its own. And with that . . . we go to credits.
