*SPOILERS* SmackDown Taping Results For This Friday, 9/28
SmackDown (Airing September 28th on SyFy):
* The show opened with Big Show coming down to the ring. Show started out by saying that he has his eyes set on the World Heavyweight Championship. Randy Orton came out to interrupt saying the same thing and eventually Alberto Del Rio did the same. Orton ended up hitting an RKO on Del Rio and clearing the others out of the ring.
* WWE United States Champion Antonio Cesaro b. Santino Marella with the Neutralizer to retain.
* It is announced that WWE Intercontinental Champion The Miz will host the second edition of MizTV later tonight and his special guest will be World Heavyweight Champion Sheamus.
* Beth Phoenix b. Natalya with a Glam Slam. After the match, assistant to the SmackDown General Manager and WWE Divas Champion Eve Torres came out and announced that Beth has been suspended indefinitely per an investigation into the Kaitlyn situation from Night of Champions.
* Backstage, Booker T and Senior Adviser Theodore Long were talking about a tag team tournament that starts tonight when Beth Phoenix stormed in an interrupted and complained about her suspension. Booker overruled Eve’s decision and when that happened, Eve tried to place the blame on Long and Booker started to question his trust.
* Wade Barrett b. Zack Ryder with The Souvenir.
* A graphic on the titantron shows the bracket for the tag team tournament. The matches are Rhode Scholars vs. The Usos, Justin Gabriel and Tyson Kidd vs. Santino Marella and Zack Ryder, Kofi Kingston and R-Truth vs. Darren Young and Titus O’Neil as well as Epico and Primo vs. Rey Mysterio and Sin Cara. The winning team will challenge Daniel Bryan and Kane for the WWE Tag Team Championship presumably at the Hell in a Cell pay-per-view.
* WWE Intercontinental Champion The Miz came out to the ring for MizTV. Miz introduced his guest, World Heavyweight Champion Sheamus. Miz asked Sheamus about all the challenges lined up for him and this led to Dolph Ziggler and Vickie Guerrero coming out. Ziggler continuously teased chasing in the Money in the Bank briefcase, which led to a brawl. Sheamus cleared everyone out of the ring.
* Cody Rhodes and Damien Sandow b. The Usos when Damien Sandow hit a neck breaker on Jey Uso to advance in the tag team tournament. After the match, the team known as the Rhode Scholars talked about the team known as Hell No!, WWE Tag Team Champions Daniel Bryan and Kane.
* Ryback b. Tensai w/Sakamoto with Shell Shock in a squash match.
* Alberto Del Rio attacked Randy Orton as he was making his entrance for the main event.
* Big Show b. Randy Orton with a chokeslam. After the match, it is announced that Big Show will challenge Sheamus for the World Heavyweight Championship at the Hell in a Cell pay-per-view to close the show.
